It was a way to make it hard for your competition to compete. We had lamp shades on our heads, tequila in our glasses, loud music and perhaps too much sand, and burning men, and art exhibits and tres commas. I find it funny when people try to blame VCs or LPs or CEOs as though anybody could choose to control a market.
