Ventura-based The Trade Desk , which develops an advertising technology platform, says it has appointed Mark Kirschner as its new Chief Marketing Officer. He also has served at Scholastic Internet Group, MTV, Paramount Interactive and NEC Technologies. Kirschner will be based out of The Trade Desk's New York offices.

I had been working on the digital teams and digital marketing side of the theatrical business, and had done lots of live events. There''s a really big need in the marketing world to empower people to do this kind of work, and help solve the content crisis, so to speak. My background is at Paramount, in the film department, and I also ran my own production company. We needed the market to mature a little bit, and we knew we had lots of wood to chop.
