They first started in 1994 and are therefore almost as old as the Web itself. CTR meaning for every 1,000 ads that are served up only 2 people click on them. Yet these seem to be the least effective attributes of banner advertising. I’m sure it probably resonants with how most of you read the web.

When I started investing the US advertising market was $300 billion with only 10% of it ($30 billion) of it being online and measurable.
