Hack4LA Winners Get $25,000 For Civic Hacking Efforts

Hack4LA , the recent hackathon which pitted Los Angeles developers, students, and residents to come up with ideas an apps to tap into open government data, has create a site listing out the winners and participants in the event. The hackathon said that it had over 400 people attend, and had 40 apps created.

This Hackathon--sponsored by such companies as Google, Scopely, ESRI, Factual, LA Makerspace, AT&T and others--is being held in Boyle Heights on June 1st and 2nd. Coaches and mentors from companies like Topspin Media, Citysearch, Beachbody, Lootsie, Datapop, and Carbon also are involved.
