Zag has developed a software product which allows users to fully configure and price cars for car buying programs and affinity groups; the firm's software is already being used by a number of other AAA clubs. Zag has now signed up 14 AAA motor clubs, and also provides its technology to Capital One Auto Finance, Overstock.com, and other sites.

Scott’s first big foray into industry-changing companies came with CarsDirect, an IdeaLab company where he was the initial founder & CEO. It is the most accurate data out there that you can use to carry into a dealership and negotiate on price. They raised around $350 million to try and sell cars direct over the Internet.

If you look at the site, it's comprised principally of individual bulletin boards for private companies. We allow them to post their requests, with the highest price posting for shares at the top of the list for buyers, and the reverse for sellers. We co-founded Zag together, and I was the COO of CarsDirect.
