Bruce, along with his wife Lynda, created a learning company from their garage, initially by holding in-person classes and later selling VHS tapes via mail order. Bruce and Lynda eventually grew their startup into a global powerhouse, offering 5,700 classes and 255,000 video tutorials to over 4 million users. I did not do well.

Not too many people are aware of the success and story of Lynda.com (www.lynda.com), started by Lynda Weinman and Bruce Heavin , and how the firm's now grown to a double-digit, multimillion dollar business which is known as THE source for online training on such things as web design, graphics software, animation, video editing, and much more.

At City Yoga the other day our instructor, Anthony Benenati began the class by reciting the 5 Yoga Sutras known as Kleshas or stains that prevent students from achieving enlightenment. The Kleshas, Anthony told the class, are: Ignorance, Ego, Attachment, Aversion and Fear of losing one’s sense of self. Now how hard can that be?
