An edtech startup called Entity Academy — which provides women with training, in areas like data science and software development; mentoring; and ultimately job coaching — has raised $100 million on the heels of strong growth of its business, and an ambition to improve that ratio.

We need to take some risks in education and in innovation in this country so anybody that it trying to break through the traditional mold and try to create a new model ought to be lauded, not attacked. Her network from her educational institutions alone has friends in all of the top tech, media & banking institutions. She is a coach and mentor to team members.

Encourage the most successful LA tech entrepreneurs who had previously started companies to get involved as mentors, instructors or just informal advisors. We did a founder “eHarmony&# where I matched the CEO’s with their chosen mentors and each one mapped to a one VC. The companies are listed on the website.

The wisest mentor I ever had was Ameet Shah , my partner on several projects. He coached me that I had to start with the answers.
