Fake Site - you can have what looks to be a real site, even take "orders" but not actually have anything able to run it. Leverage Existing Platforms or Third Party Products - you want to test your social network, grab Drupal and whip something together, or even just use a hosted service. Plan for past the initial MVP.

One, is the discovery of awesome content, two is a place to store and publicize that awesome content, and three is being able to save your usernames and passwords to literally any site on the web, and automatically log you into those sites. Earlier this month, Los Angeles-based LifeCrowd (www.lifecrowd.com) unveiled its service to help connect people with real life activities. We've only been working on the site for May, June, July, and August, and it's a brand new endeavor for us. Tony Adam is an advisor, he was formerly at MySpace.

Alex Benzer: We're building SocialEngine in parallel, and working on a new, software-as-service version. We had to figure out what would help the other 90 percent build better and more interesting sites. That's why we built FanMix, to solve our own problem, and help our SocialEngine customers to promote their own sites.
