Monrovia-based AeroVironment said today that the firm's Global Observer, unmanned aircraft systems, has completed wing load testing at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center. Global Observer is being funded by six U.S. government agencies, which have funded the program with more than $120M.

Monrovia, California-based SiLC Technologies, a developer of machine vision tools, says it has raised $17M in a Series A funding round. The company says it has now raised $30M in total, including an earlier, $12M seed funding last year. Mehdi Asghari is founder and CEO of the company.

Monrovia-based Tanner Research is the recipient of a $1M, contract award from the Defense Logistics Agency, the firm said Tuesday afternoon. According to Tanner, the funding will go to accelerate production of a micro-initiator board, used for military applications.
