In what is a fairly unusual move, last week, Tradesparq (www.tradesparq.com), a Chinese startup in the area of B2B trade information, said it was planning on setting up its operations here in Southern California, as part of an expansion and scaling of the company. Laguna Hills-based See Jane Go , a startup which operates a ridesharing service driven by, and which serves just women, has raised $2.47M in an angel funding, the company said Tuesday. See Jane Go currently offers it service in Orange County and Long Beach, with plans to expand to the rest of Southern California using the funding.

This past weekend, the annual Long Beach Soundwalk took place across the blocks of downtown Long Beach’s art district. The artists provided exhibit participants an iPad with a custom-designed soundboard with a number of pre-loaded sounds with volume and activate capabilities. Really neat stuff.

Greenfield Robotics (greenfieldrobotics.com), is a startup, split between Los Angeles and Kanasas, which is working on robotic systems which make it possible for farmers to remove their reliance on chemical sprays. Clint Brauer: Greenfield Robotics was started to solve the problem with broad acre farming, which is the chemical problem.
