We had to buy Oracle database licenses, UNIX servers, a Sun Solaris operating system, web servers, load balancers, EMC storage, disk mirrors for redundancy and had to commit to a year-long hosting agreement at places such as Exodus. Linux (instead of UNIX), Apache (web server software), MySQL (instead of Oracle) and PHP.

I tapped my friends at big tech companies (Salesforce, Google, Oracle). So if I’m the guy in the audience feeling the power of that great baritone projection with that beautifully designed product and if I am able to fund that company I’m guessing it falls into Paul’s category of a bad startup looking good.

The Java 8 javadocs are hosted locally for the time being because I don't know of an official, Oracle-hosted location for them. When Oracle eventually hosts them, I'll change the links to point to the official home for the javadocs. It had the best support for the Java 8 language features at the time I went looking.

I'd used every CRM tool out there--Oracle, Siebel, PeopleSoft--you name it, I've used it. I don't know if you're familiar with LucidEra, a company in this area which shut down earlier this year, but we're different in that their application is designed for five executives in a company. They had to pull the plug. Speaking of Force.

I tapped my friends at big tech companies (Salesforce, Google, Oracle). They are designed to help good companies to get access to investors but also help to make bad companies look good. Of course I went through normal other channels of deal flow. I spent time on college campuses. I asked for intro’s from entrepreneur friends.
