After operating in stealth mode for about two years, First Resonance , a company founded by former SpaceX engineers, is finally showing the world their software toolkit designed to let manufacturers make things using the processes employed by their former boss.
Hawthorne-based space launch provider SpaceX , led by technology mogul Elon Musk, has just been given permission to launch a massive, 7,518 satellites into space, designed to provide saturated broadband communications across the globe.
Hawthorne-based SpaceX is hoping to launch the very first, commercial missions for its Starship spacecraft--designed to deliver passengers to Mars--in 2021, according to the company , and is currently in talks with three companies on those missions. All three of those customers would use the new platform to send satellites into orbit.
Hawthorne-based Space eXploration Technologies (SpaceX), the rocket firm backed by Elon Musk, said Monday that the firm has introduced a new, reusable spacecraft as part of its set of products. Los Angeles-based First Resonance, a startup developing what it calls a "factory operating system" designed for hardware companies for use in their manufacturing operations, says it has raised a new round of funding. The company said the new funding will go to expand its team and support continued development of its platform.
