Soraa , the UC SantaBarbara spinout funded by Khosla Ventures, NEA, and NGEN Partners, has unveiled its first product, a new LED lighting lamp. Soraa, which was started in Goleta, said its Soraa LED MR16 lamp is intended as a replacement for traditional, halogen MR16 bulbs. Pricing on the LED lamps has not been released.
Soraa , the UC SantaBarbara spinout which develops LED lighting technology, says it has installed its lamps at the Idemitsu Museum of Arts in Tokyo, Japan. Soraa said it was specifically selected to replace "dated" halogen lamps. Financial impact of the win was not announced.
Gallium nitride LED technology developer Soraa , which has an R&D center in Goleta, has deployed its lighting technology in Taipei, Taiwan, at a high end boxing center. Soraa , the developer of Gallium Nitride (GaN) LED lighting technology based on research out of UC SantaBarbara, has won an install of its LED lamps at Sacramento's Crocker Art Museum. The Crocker said it turned to Soraa's LED lamps due to their color rendering, which is at around 3000K, or close to sunlight.
