For some reason, I haven’t heard much about the next generation of the Internet ( Web 3.0 ) lately, which probably means it isn’t happening as fast as everyone predicted. I suspect the real challenge is not the semantic web technology , but new attractive business models from smart entrepreneurs. People on the Web now include everyone.

Can you believe all the talk these days about Web 3.0? I’ve been doing some research to assess how much of it is reality, since I have to admit that I seem to have missed the clues to the transition to Web 2.0, After some work, I’m still convinced that much of the Web 3.0 People on the Web now include everyone.

Their "Drive To" product provides a web-based navigator, which require no download, and we saw that there were lots of things we could do together to target the right person, at the right time, using a web-based GPS. It's little known, but we were going to sign the docs on a Series A two days after we got the LOI for TeleNav.

But Microsoft kept the status quo, partially because of competitors’ mistakes, good products they created (sometimes, not always), and people’s nature to stay with what they know. But the main reason why everyone wanted Windows was software. Everyone needed software because everything was implemented as software.

They have been working on the idea for about a year and are launching the product now, currently partnered with American Golf. If you’ve ever worked for an executive and had to track multiple statistics, financial sheets and web pages, it can be very frustrating. The cost is only $1.29 per postcard, including postage.

We had met previously when Trevor was a product manager at YouTube and Upfront had funded the largest video producer on YouTube, Maker Studios. They had worked together as senior product manager and senior engineering leads at Twitter and identified a problem they saw in visual communication of information. What are some examples?

Innovation in the end is about creating products, but largely the federal government doesn't make products; it buys them. So it may be fair to posit that after most of the research and discovery happens, people in the government wonder why it takes so long – and costs so much – to get a prototype or a finished product.
