Sonos Files For IPO

Santa Barbara-based Sonos , which develops very easy to use, connected whole-home speaker systems, has filed for an IPO, saying in a filing on Friday that it is looking to raise up to $100M in an offering on the Nasdaq Global Select Market. The company has applied to list as SONO. The IPO is being underwritten by Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs & Co, Allen & Company, RBC Capital Markets, Jeffries, KKR, Raymond James, and Stifel.

Automation Anywhere , which supplies customers with armies of software robots to take over manual tasks such as insurance claims processing, announced today it raised $250 million in a first funding round that set its post-money valuation at $1.8 billion. Monrovia, California-based unmanned aerial vehicle maker Aerovironment said this week that it is collaborating with the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory , to develop a drone which can fly on Mars. According to Aerovironment, the Mars Helicopter is now in production at JPL, with plans to fly the drone on Mars in less than three years. AeroVironment said that flying on Mars is very similar to flying at nearly 100,000 feet on Earth, with the same air density.
