The idea is that in a world in which companies need to deal with customer support requests from Twitter, Facebook, email, phone, IM, etc. Collaboration in business starts and ends with email. In business you spend your life in email. Increasing this is also migrating to social network messaging but email is still king.
A typical day starts with email, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Yammer checks/updates. It’s something I speak about quite a bit (see Social Media to Build Reputation and Reach Prospects and Social Media for Service Professionals ). I'd rather invest time investing in social media to drive traffic to our site.
If you’ve ever received an email from me, you’d know that I always sign my emails with “to the moon.&# Borrowed from the Honeymooners, I’m shooting for the moon in my business venture. I typically spend my mornings in emails, then a few calls, then I tweet, then I check and respond to Facebook and Linkedin.
We collaborate using Zoom, Teams, Salesforce, Yammer, Skype, GoToMeeting, Fuze and hundreds of other tools not available to the last generation of whiteboard, personal meeting or teleconference users. We read increasingly using our digital devices. Let’s explore examples of these and more.
