Soraa , the UC SantaBarbara spinout whic is backed by Khosla Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, and NGEN Partners, said today that it has launched its first, outdoor LED lamp product, which it says patches the performance of a 40W halogon MR16 lamp.
Soraa , the UC SantaBarbara spinout funded by Khosla Ventures, NEA, and NGEN Partners, has unveiled its first product, a new LED lighting lamp. Soraa, which was started in Goleta, said its Soraa LED MR16 lamp is intended as a replacement for traditional, halogen MR16 bulbs. Pricing on the LED lamps has not been released.
Soraa , the UC SantaBarbara spinout which develops LED lighting technology, says it has installed its lamps at the Idemitsu Museum of Arts in Tokyo, Japan. Soraa said it was specifically selected to replace "dated" halogen lamps. Financial impact of the win was not announced.
IKEA has started selling a new line of speakers it devleoped in conjunction with SantaBarbara-based Sonos this week, including an oddly shaped, dual "speaker lamp", the SYMFONISK. According to IKEA, the new lamp is the "best sounding lamp in the world" and combines both a smart, Wi-Fi speaker and a light.
