Greg Martin , the partner heading up Redpoint Ventures ' Los Angeles office, has reportedly left the firm, according to a report from the Private Equity Insider. Martin is no longer listed on Redpoint's web site, was not listed in its latest fundraising documents, and declined to comment on the story. READ MORE>>.

Redpoint Ventures is one of the venture capital firms which has straddled both Northern California and Southern California, with offices in both locations. It would be interesting to hear about where your interests are nowdays, there was a rumor Redpoint had backed off activity here lately. People can come in and have a coffee.

I left a great firm, Redpoint Ventures (after 11 years), to start a new firm, Archer Venture Capital. Coming off a very successful exit with Networks in Motion at the end of 2009, 2010 has been a very exciting year for several of my companies, Socialvibe, 2tor, Leadpoint, Webvisible and Impact Radius. Great things will emerge there.

Last week, we talked with Fouad ElNaggar of Redpoint Ventures about some of the interesting companies in Southern California. Hark is backed by Redpoint, and happens to be co-founded by Fouad. Was Fouad with Redpoint at the time? David Aronchick: He was being courted very heavily be Redpoint at the time.
