X Prize Auctioning Off Zero Gravity Flight On eBay

Los Angeles-based X Prize Foundation , the group which manages a series of competition-based prizes aimed at advancing science and technology, said today that it is running an eBay auction for a zero gravity flight with Avatar producer and director James Cameron. The flight will be on a modified Boeing 727-200 aircraft, the G-FORCE ONE.

Local Firms Recognized For Innovation

A number of local, Southern California firms were recognized today by the Wall Street Journal, in that publication's annual Technology Innovation Awards. According to the WSJ, Zoom Focus Eyewear , Van Nuys-based developer of eyeglasses which can replace the need for progressive or bi-focal glasses, was awarded the Silver Winner in its award.
