I came across this blog post about getting a computer science degree as the best degree for getting into venture capital or working at a VC-backed startup. Almost all of the finalists were MBAs (Stanford x2, Wharton, Harvard x2, MIT, UCLA).

Gevo , a startup which is developing renewable chemicals and biofuels technology, has filed for an IPO, according to an S-1 filing by the firm Thursday afternoon. Gevo--which is now based in Englewood, Colorado--was started in Pasadena, and has licensed technology from both the University of California, Los Angeles, and Caltech.
A startup, Sparefoot , headed by two former UCLA students who founded the company out of their experiences at the school, said today that it is offering up a $5,000 scholarship to students who use its service.
